Lauren H. Solomon Scholarship
Lauren Hanks Solomon was the first African-American and first woman employee of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and was one of the founding members of the Atlanta Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO). She served in various positions at MARTA from 1970 until her passing in 1988. In memory of Ms. Solomon, COMTO Atlanta has established a scholarship in her name at her alma mater, Clark Atlanta University. COMTO Atlanta is committed to continuing her enthusiasm and dedication to transportation.
Join us as we celebrate the next generation of leaders in the transportation industry by bestowing two scholarships to Clark Atlanta University students who have chosen to dedicate themselves to furthering transportation.
