The Central Florida Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) announces its first membership luncheon to be held at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, Florida on Wednesday, October 30 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Joining us for this event will be FDOT Secretary, Ananth Prasad, who will be providing us with an update on transportation projects and initatives affecting our state and nation.
Prior to his appointment by Governor Rick Scott in 2011 to the office of Secretary, Mr. Prasad served as the Assistant Secretary for Engineering and Operations for FDOT, rejoining them in July of 2010 after a brief two-year stint as vice president of a construction-services firm.
Secretary. Prasad has a total of 22 years' experience in the transportation industry, including 20 years with FDOT where he previously held the positions of the Chief Engineer and Director of Construction. He was responsible for implementing various innovative contracting techniques, including public-private partnerships. He earned a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida.
