The Community Research Institute with the support of the Dyer-Ives Foundation is releasing the Community Profiles 2.0 for the City of Grand Rapids in October. The site aims to further the development and use of neighborhood information and data systems in local policy making and community building. The objectives include developing and expanding access to neighborhood level information, content development and training of local neighborhood groups.
This first release focuses on developing new tools to provide housing and economic content using datasets from the City of Grand Rapids, Kent County, Nielsen and InfoUSA. Over the last year these new tools and content were developed through housing and economic working group sessions that included local community experts and GVSU faculty and staff. Their time and effort was crucial in developing these new and exciting indicators for our local community.
