Community management is often a hard concept to grasp—whether you need strategic or tactical help or need to start from the basics, this class is an excellent resource. It’s often easy to lose sight of the fact that it’s not just about building a large and relevant community, but also about sustaining the digital neighborhood you’ve created.   

This daylong session with begin by reviewing the purpose of community management, relevant objectives, and then go in-depth on how to develop your community management strategy. Lastly we will discuss the various facets that encompass community management, and give you the tool belt you’ll need to both launch your community and track your progress along the way.  The session will cover a spectrum of topics including:

·      Audience Discovery

·      Community Definition

·      Branding Within Your Community

·      Content Creation

·      Distributing Your Message

·      Defining Appropriate Community Based Metric

Startups, mid-sized companies and large businesses alike face the challenge of building and managing a successful community around their company and brand offering. This class will teach and inform everyone from entrepreneurs, community managers, and individuals who wish to increase their personal reach and scope.

Lauren Perkins is a brand marketer and digital evangelist. Best known for her innate ability to distill the complicated into the simple, she has provided solutions for start-ups and consumer brands including, Laser Cosmetica, Crunch Fitness, eDiets, Laura Mercier, 85Broads, Cookstr, and Pfizer. An entrepreneur at heart and problem-solver by trade, Lauren is currently the CEO and Founder of Perks Consulting, a digital brand and marketing agency specializing in the fusion of lifestyle and technology based in New York City. Lauren is also a contributor to Inc., Forbes Women, and regularly teaches at General Assembly.
