We will harvest fresh backyard fruit for donation to hunger relief agencies (soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and the food bank) in Contra Costa County. We will have all the necessary equipment, including buckets, picking-poles, ladders, clippers, gloves and crates with us. Wear closed-toed shoes and clothing appropriate for the expected weather conditions of the day. Please come prepared to be outdoors for 4 hours. Other items to consider are:
- Water and a snack/lunch
- Hat and Sunglasses
- Gardening gloves
- Brown bag to take some fruit home
Is there an age limit?
Children must be 6 years or older and accompanied by a parent/guardian.
What are my transportation options?
Other than driving to the church parking lot, there is a BART station in Lafayette that is within 15 minutes walking distance of the church parking lot.
Can I come without registering?
We prefer that you register so we can plan the harvest based on the size of the crew. If the event is not sold out and is not private, you are welcome to join without registering.
