To Strengthen, Heal and Empower DeKalb families by linking impacted families with public and private organizations offering resources, guidance, training and support to facilitate healthier relationships, empowered, self-sustaining families and engaged, inspired youth.
To create opportunities for stemming the rising tide of DeKalb County families who are being devastated by the socio-economic impact of domestic violence and several correlated social issues. TT2GAC Foundation was established in memory of my daughter, Anika Vai. Throughout the year, we will present DV community forums, in memory of Nikki , as one of too many DV victims who suffered unnecessarily and died too soon. We will also present community engagement events & conversations on topics geared to “bring light” to the domino, socio-economic impact of specific social issues and the links between these social crises: (1) toxic parenting/unhealthy relationships (2) the generational legacy of child abuse & neglect (3) domestic violence (4) poverty & homelessness (5) under-employment (6) PTSD, bi-polar, unresolved grief and related anxiety disorders (7) inadequate OHI/Emotional Support special needs educational systems and (9) neglected health & wellness. These “social ills” plagued my daughter’s life and placed significant emotional/financial/physical/social limitations on her potential.
Our community forums engage attendees & participating organizations to:
SHARE concerns, expertise and experiences
LEARN how the domino effect of domestic violence and specific social issues devastate our community
PARTICIPATE in brainstorming and think-tank sessions
NETWORK with the DeKalb County advocacy community and government agency experts; then,
TAKE IT BACK to their communities.
