Common Core Community Forum
Monday, August 12, 2013 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM (MDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Please note: This event has changed. Our previously committed pro-Common Core panelists have cancelled and offers to fly in Pro-experts from seven leading national groups were declined. The makeup of the panel is now 0-for and 4-against.
Because of this change and out of respect to our moderator, BOE Chair Paul Lundeen, we've asked John Ransom to moderate the forum instead. Mr. Ransom is the host of the popular Ransom Notes Radio show and the editor of TownhallFinance.com.
Common Core Curriculum is the most significant change to educational policy in a generation. It will impact kids, teachers and parents and fundementally change the way students get taught, what they're taught, and what they need to learn for college.
But what IS Common Core? Is it good or bad? Why should it matter to you?
We've invited an expert panel to help you make the best decision for your children's education. Our moderator will be Paul Lundeen, Chairman of the CO State Board of Education, and our panel includes Shane Vander Hart (American Principles Project), Bill Evers (Resident Scholar, Stanford University's Hoover Institute), Joy Pullman (Heartland Institute), Jamie Gass (Pioneer Institute) and Treon Goossen (homeschool expert / parentalrights.org).
***This event is being sponsored by the non-profit, non-partisan group Parent Led Reform. If you're interested in supporting PLR's work of highlighting and providing information on important issues in education, please consider joining as a member or making an optional donation.
