A new forum for arts partners working with the Chicago Public Schools. This day-long event will explore the philosophy and content of the Common Core standards from a wide variety of practitioners.
The morning will feature presentations from local and national experts in Common Core: Michael Cohen, President of Achieve, Inc, Sandra Ruppert, Director of the Arts Education Partnership and Jennifer Cheatham, Chief of Instruction for CPS. Afternoon sessions will offer an opportunity to connect with peers in guided discussions as we prepare to examine the opportunities these standards create for our work with schools and create new dialogue about the role of the arts in Common Core.
The upcoming implementation of Common Core State Standards, set to begin next year, provides a new paradigm for curriculum and instruction. Save the date for a series of workshops this summer to explore topics in greater detail. June 28: Lesson Planning, July 26: CC in Partnership, August 16: Using CC for TA Professional Development, all 10 am - 12 pm.
$15/participant, includes lunch
