Come to the Table: Hunger is a Health Issue

On February 27, 2104, ProMedica, in collaboration with the Alliance to End Hunger, will present Come to the Table, a half-day summit on Capitol Hill to address hunger as a health issue. Health and nutrition experts will present in areas of policy, community collaboration, physician engagement, and addressing hunger as an integral part of care plans.
The goals of the Come to the Table Summit are:
- Recognition of, and action towards, confronting hunger as a health issue by members of Congress and Obama Administration officials.
- Commitment by healthcare industry leaders to address the health consequences of hunger and malnutrition in their programs, strategic plans and community partnerships.
- To highlight the value of “Hunger Champions” in Congress and unveil new champions as allies of hungry people in this country.
Join us! Together we can work to make hunger a priority on the federal political agenda, build public awareness, and further engage industry leaders and policy makers in meaningful and collaborative ways to combat hunger in our nation.
