We must embrace global growth, but in a manner that is economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable. Even with the best efforts to ethically control population growth rates, the planet will reach at least ten billion people by 2100 with increased, but uneven prosperity spreading across the Global South. Billions of new consumers will further strain planetary resources already stretched by those of us in the West, yet fairness demands that they have equal access to better lives. The daunting, but surmountable challenge is to provide this access with development that is more sustainable than our current models.

The Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) invites you to join fellow alumni; newly-admitted and current students; parents; University administrator Mary C. Boyce, Dean of Engineering and Morris A. and Alma Schapiro Professor at Columbia Engineering; and Vishaan Chakrabarti, Holliday Associate Professor of Real Estate Development and the Director of CURE, the Center for Real Estate Development, at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in Seoul for a discussion about Global Columbia. Now is the time to connect with the University: with eight Global Centers spanning four continents, Columbia can meet you almost anywhere.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the event.

Dress: business casual.
