Event Details

Welcome to the 10th annual Columbia Business School Healthcare Conference!  We are excited about this year’s Program, as we bring together experts from across the full spectrum of the healthcare industry to discuss and debate the dramatic changes underway to align incentives, improve health outcomes, and “get costs out of the system”. There is a clear recognition among providers, payers, manufacturers, and policy makers that “something has to give”, and thus novel technologies, business processes, and unique collaborations are being pursued at an accelerated pace.

As reflected in this year’s theme: “Creating Value-Based Solutions for a Discerning Healthcare Buyer”, the Conference will focus on creating models and enabling technologies to address unmet medical needs, enhance health outcomes, and allow consumers to make more informed decisions on the cost and value of healthcare products and services. At the Conference we will move past the political acrimony and rancor around “Obamacare” and focus on how system stakeholders can provide sustainable improvement in the delivery of high quality affordable healthcare.

The Conference attracts more than 500 industry practitioners and students from Columbia and other top-tier professional schools. Speakers from established healthcare organizations, emerging companies, and investment firms will present informed views on how to improve health outcomes and the “value proposition” leading to more cost-effective patient care. This year we have three prominent keynote speakers and six diverse panels:

The Conference concludes with a networking reception and career fair with our prominent sponsors -- leading healthcare employers, investors and client service firms that promote healthcare business education and research.

On behalf of Columbia Business School’s Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management (HPM) Program and student-run Healthcare Industry Association (HCIA) we welcome you to this year’s exciting event!  For information on the HPM Program and HCIA, please visit our websites.
