OELL invites high school guidance counselors and assistant principals of guidance to a two-day workshop focusing on impacting the socio-emotional support, academic programming and placement, and college and career readiness of our English Language Learners (ELLs). Participants will gain an understanding of academic policy as it applies to the appropriate programming and placement of high school ELLs, supporting student achievement through an introduction of the Truancy, Chronic Absenteeism, and School Engagement initiative, and identifying resources for supporting ELLs in enrolling, persisting and succeeding in college. This two day event will be held in a location in lower Manhattan; the exact location will be sent upon registration.
This is a two day workshop meeting on May 9 and May 23.
