CoderDojo is a free, international, coding club for kids. If you are between the ages of 8 - 17, interested to learn computer programming (or are already a Guru) and you are willing to share what you learn with others you can become a club member. No prior programming experience is necessary. There is no cost, just bring a laptop and a parent. We'll be meeting twice a month, the second and fourth Saturday, to build cool apps and build programming skills with creative kids who love playing with computers.
Our format is exploratory and not lecture, although we will have talks from time to time. Teams will be formed to solve challenges and each team presents what they have built and share how they did it with others. Here is a short video which walks you through our format: http://youtu.be/oiYgexwsPJE
If you like the idea of building games, mods, scripts, and hacks etc then you have found a home. If you know how to program and want to share what you know with other kids then become a Dojo Mentor. There is a lot of great info at http://coderdojo.com for beginners and mentors alike.
So kids (and parents) are you in? :-) Awesome! Grab a free ticket and have your parent complete this short survey: http://goo.gl/5Uimd Oh, one more thing. There is only one rule when at CoderDojo: Be cool!
