Event Details

Coder-kids, the mentors, the librarians and their respective families will have a chance to socialize at this special happy-hour for coder-kids and their families.  Oxford Exchange has kindly agreed to open up an extended area for CoderDojo Tampa Bay Area to gather during their First Friday family event.  There'll be board games for kids, live music, complimentary truffled parmesan popcorn, and distilled water service. OE waives its corkage fee if you bring your wine, and you may purchase from their special first friday menu. Bring your whole family, and your friends, especially those who like to code or teach code.  Look for free OE parking on the Grand Central Ave side (map).  Hope you can be there!

CoderDojo Tampa Bay Area

Tampa Bay Area CoderDojo draws its inspiration from CoderDojo in Dublin, Ireland.  CoderDojos are free! Really FREE, free of charge, and there is no part of the global collaboration that wants to make money from you or the young people learning so there really is no catch.

Thanks are due to various mentors of Tampa Bay Area CoderDojo who spend time on a workday or a weekend to help kids get excited about computer programming!

The One Rule…

Be Cool!

The CoderDojo Promise…

Open Free Learning!

  • The CoderDojo Principles…
  • Our context is open, free, child-led, learning.
  • We are open source.
  • Child safety comes before everything except common sense.
  • Participation is always free of charge.
  • Playing and creating lead our learning and we share what we learn.
  • What works in an individual CoderDojo is shared, not enforced.
  • We collaborate and rely on each other.
  • Champions, mentors, parents and their kids are responsible for each other.
