Coaching Digital Natives
Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM (GMT)
In this online seminar, Lance will cover the topics that he covered in his Keynote Lecture at the University of Bath and also at the British Judo Association National Performance Centre in Dartford (London), England.
This talk discusses what a Digital Native is, how they are different to us and how technology is a part of their learning of Judo (or any activity). Aimed at Judo coaches, this talk will show some real world examples of technology use to enhance the Judo coaching process. DIscussion also covers why these technologies matter.
This talk is a good introduction to many of the technologies being used by your athletes. These include FaceBook, Youtube, Blogs, etc.
The aim of this talk is to help coaches understand how the coaching methodology needs to change to remain relevant to the young people we are working with.
