Please join CNU Illinois for our seventh annual state conference, "Ready, Set, Plan!" Our program will investigate the urban planning process with a series of case studies drawn from the southern and eastern communities of Chicago’s metropolitan area. Our morning program will explore “The Region,” “The City,” and “The District” with presentations of the Millennium Reserve, the Village of Park Forest, and Chicago’s proposed Lakeside development. Our afternoon program will feature Downtown Orland Park's “Main Street,” with a special emphasis on the “implementation” phase of the planning and development process. The conference will also include a midday Regional Heritage Luncheon. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available. CNU Illinois members as well as non-members are invited to attend.
If you are attending the conference and will be arriving by Metra, it is recommended that you also purchase the "Optional Shuttle" transportation from Metra's 143rd Street Station to the Civic Center in addition to your conference registration. For those attending the Full Day or Morning Program, Metra Train #807 leaves Union Station in downtown Chicago at 8:35am and arrives at 143rd Street at 9:26am. The Shuttle would deliver you to the Civic Center by 9:45am in advance of the first presentation at 10:00am. For those attending only the Afternoon Program, Metra Train #811 leaves Union Station at 10:35am and arrives at 143rd Street at 11:26am. The Shuttle would deliver you to the Civic Center by 11:45 in advance of the Luncheon at 12:15pm. The afternoon tour and reception conclude just steps away from the 143rd Station. Trains depart from Orland Park to Union Station at 4:09pm and 5:47pm.
