Event Details

This hackathon is designed for attendees (technical & non-technical) to learn more about HTML5 single-page web apps, build HTML5 single-page apps, and compete for great prizes. This event is open to the general public and includes free food. To help you build a winning app, we will introduce you to the latest cutting edge tools for building single-page apps, including YUI and Meteor.


Remote CMU students may participate from Pittsburgh. Photo ID is required to attend the event in person.

Theme

Submissions should be single-page web applications and should be done through the website

 

 

Here are some suggested frameworks you may want to use for building your app. Representatives from these frameworks will be on site to help you build your app.

YUI Library: http://yuilibrary.com/

Meteor API: http://www.meteor.com/

 

Schedule

Friday, Apr 12

- 7pm Registration begins

- 8pm Introduction on what this hackathon is about, the theme (client side apps where all the app logic is written in JavaScript), discussion of rules and prizes. 

- 8:15pm Presentation from Yahoo and Meteor.

- 9:15pm Start team building, idea pitching.

- 10pm Doors close. Participants go home and can code at home.

 

Saturday, Apr 13

- 8am doors open, hacking begins

- 4pm: Submissions due

- 4pm - 7pm: Demos, judging

- 7pm: Awards

- 10pm Doors close.
