Cloud Security Alliance Boston Chapter Meeting!

The security of private, public, and hybrid cloud environments is critical. Presentation overviews

Compliance in the Cloud - Is it possible to demonstrate security and compliance of a cloud-based environment? What are the differences vs. securing and assessing a traditional environment? In this talk we will discuss the challenges of being able to demonstrate compliance in a public, private, and hybrid cloud environment.

Speaker Bio - Ken Smith is a senior information security architect with K logix. He’s been helping clients with their information security and compliance challenges for more than 15 years. Ken holds CISSP, CISA, and CCSK certifications. More info at www.linkedin.com/in/1ksmith.

How do your mobile apps behave in the cloud? - Cloud computing has transformed how applications and data are delivered. Mobile computing has transformed how people consume applications and data. Mobile apps are becoming more reliant on cloud services. But what level of risk is being introduced?  How would risky app behaviors impact cloud security?  What common services are mobile apps using?  What risky behaviors do these apps exhibit?  We will examine these questions with some real-world examples.

Speaker Bio - Shawn Valle is the Manager of Mobile Products at Veracode. Before joining Veracode in 2013, Shawn served as Mobile Cyber Security Group Leader at The MITRE Corporation, leading research, security assessments, training, and systems security engineering for mobile computing, enterprise network security, and defense systems. Shawn earned a bachelor’s in management information systems with honors from Northeastern University and holds the CISSP certification.

We look forward to seeing you there!
