Closing the Racial Wealth Gap: Chicago Community Roundtable
Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (CDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The racial wealth gap has tripled in the past 25 years. We now find ourselves living in communities where the average family of color has only 16 cents for every dollar owned by the average white family.
IABG is hosting roundtable discussions across Illinois. These roundtables will focus on how individual communities see the racial wealth gap impacting their communities, causes of the racial wealth gap, and how an asset building agenda can help close the gap. We hope to engage communities more deeply in our policy agenda as we get ready for the next legislative session.
In Chicago we are partnering with the Partners in Community Building to bring community leaders, advocates, asset building and financial empowerment organizations, and researchers together to discuss the racial wealth gap and a solution-based policy agenda.
Participation is free however pre-registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
