Event Details

Differences in climate, availability of labor and materials, energy costs, and a litany of other factors influence construction methods and the decisions made by owners, designers and builders in different locations.  To explore this in detail, residential contractors in Juneau, AK, and Portland, OR will present case study examples of residential projects highlighting the challenges and victories of building sustainably within the context of their location –both geographically and culturally!  The event will end with a design charrette challenging participants to consider the climate factors in their project location.
