Frank Zammataro, Founder and President, Rentricity
Cleantech Open 2012 National Runner-Up

Mr. Frank Zammataro founded Rentricity, Inc. in 2003 and serves as its President. Mr. Zammataro has over 20 years of operating experience with large and small organizations primarily in the development and marketing of emerging technology. Prior to co-founding Rentricity, Mr. Zammataro served as the Chief Marketing Officer of W-Technologies, a wireless software company, where he drove the global market and product strategy, business development, and corporate communications activities. At Merrill Lynch, he served as a First Vice President and Managing Director of Investments and Alliances in the Private Client Division. Mr. Zammataro holds a B.A. in Political Science and Communications Arts from St. John's University, and completed the Executive Leadership Development Program at The Wharton School.

Mike Shimazu, Program Manager - Innovation and Business Development, NYSERDA

Michael Shimazu manages several Innovation and Business Development programs at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, including NYSERDA’s clean energy business incubators, entrepreneurs-in-residence, venture capital outreach programs, and energy infotech cluster initiative. He has more than 20 years experience in technology commercialization at the intersection of startup companies, universities and government. He was a co-founder and corporate officer at Molecular OptoElectronics Corp., a venture-funded optical components company where he launched several profitable new products. He has advised several technology startups as a consultant and Business Development Director at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and held positions in technology-based economic development in New York, Massachusetts and Hawaii. He holds the S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

David Gilford, Assistant Director,  New York City Economic Development Corporation

David Gilford is Assistant Director of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the City’s primary vehicle for promoting economic growth. David leads the Clean Technology and Energy team, managing programs that translate NYC's sustainability goals into opportunities for growth. Partnering with the private sector, his group also helps stimulate demand for cleantech products and services by implementing demonstration projects. NYCEDC’s entrepreneurship programs include incubators, accelerators, mentorship and an early-stage investment fund. David holds a BA in Economics from Williams College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Arrun Kapoor, Managing Director, SJF Ventures

Arrun Kapoor is the Managing Director for SJF Ventures’ New York City office and a Ventures Advisor to the SJF Institute. He leads the NYC CleanLinks program and is an Advisory Board Member of NYC ACRE: NYU-Poly and the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission Green Business Accelerator. He is on the Board of FieldView Solutions and a Board Observer to ServiceChannel and Truist. Kapoor was most recently with Bain & Company in London and Delhi where he launched the firm’s internal green practice initiatives. He worked with Bain’s private equity consulting practice and gained experience in a range of cleantech-related industries. Prior to Bain, he was a founding member and Manager with a successful consulting start-up in New York and London. He holds a Master’s in International Political Economics from the London School of Economics and completed a BA from New York University with an economics and business focus.
