Join us for a seed cleaning event!
We are all ready to get cleaning some of the early collected Carex emoryi (Emory’s sedge) that you all worked so hard to get this early spring season!
Who: YOU! Looking for 10-12 volunteers. First volunteers to RSVP get a spot!
What: Cleaning Carex emoryi (Emory’s sedge) off the stalks to bag up clean seed!
Where: Meet at POS headquarters; 5201 St. Vrain Rd. Longmont, CO 80503, park in the back gravel lot, and the main front lot. We will be cleaning the seed in the Shop.
When: Wednesday July 2nd, 5:00-8:00 pm.
Why: Carex emoryi is a sedge seed that was collected early this spring season. This year was so productive, that we held four collections of it! We have lots of seed that needs to be cleaned so that we can send some of it off to be grown out this August. This seed is very valuable since it cannot be commercially purchased. Seed cleaning is a great way to meet new people, learn about the taxonomy of the plant, and relax after work. Light refreshments will be provided. We hope you join us in a fun evening of relaxing seed cleaning!
