The Marion County Bar Association will host a 3-hour CLE* on April 24th titled, "Modern Lawyering Utilizing Social Media" which includes 2 hours of ethics CLE.
2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Title & Description: "Social Media: First Amendment Implications and the Employment Context.” This session will discuss recent Indiana and Seventh Circuit decisions implicating social media and intended restrictions thereof. This session will also discuss the parameters employers can place on their employees within the social media context and how employers can effectively manage their employees without violating the law. This session will also discuss the ethical implications of lawyer and judges utilizing social media for work purposes and pitfalls to avoid.

This portion will also discuss the ethical implications of judges and lawyers utilizing social media and what types of practices to avoid.

Title & Description: “Litigation and Discovery: How to get Social Media Evidence in and Keep it in.” This session will discuss how to engage in electronic discovery, how to authenticate the evidence, and how admit it into evidence at trial. This session will also discuss proposed jury instructions for electronic discovery, and how to utilize social media to maximize your jury panel.
