Best Practices in Youth Employment
Friday, June 7th - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
Youth employment and internship programs are an important youth development strategy, particularly for older youth ages 14 and up. However, in order to achieve optimal outcomes, youth employment programs should be much more than connecting kids with summer jobs. Learn about best practices that will help your program use youth employment as internships as a platform to provide life trajectory changing experiences.
In this session participants will learn about:
The youth development principles that should be the foundation of any youth program
Key components specific to youth employment and internship programs
Local and national examples of best practices in youth employment
Registration for the program will start at 9:30 a.m. Please plan on arriving no later than 9:45 a.m., as we will start at 10:00 a.m. sharp.
