You're invited to the Citizen Science Workshop at LA Makerspace.  A monthly series where researchers, teachers, and students can meet to collaborate on projects as well as develop new research which can be conducted in the classroom.

The theme this month is 'What I Hacked on My Summer Vacation'.

For this workshop we'll have a talk about what happened during our Summer research program and how we can start connecting more schools together in our citizen science network.  Then we'll go into our upcoming after school program


1. Meet and Greet

  1. Ask attendees what brought them to the workshop.
  2. What is the Citizen Science workshop. How does it work?

2. Research projects being presented:

  1. BioSCAN
  2. DECO
  3. Safecast
  4. Reefquest
  5. Biomechanics and swarming studies at USC.

3:30pm - General Q&A 

  1. Connect teachers and students with a given research group
  2. Start designing collaborations
  3. Logistics, logistics, logistics
