Five years ago on August 28th New Orleans was completely ravaged by
Hurricane Katrina. Now thanks to BP’s oilspill, the Gulf is reeling on
its heels again. No community has been hit harder than the fishing
families of the affected Gulf region. They will be left to fend for
their own once BP moves on, creating what will likely be our modern Dust
By attending this #citizengulf meet-up you make a step towards actionable change. If you are in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 25th, please attend the N'awlins Downtown event at Oceans 808 in Restaurant Row.... Featured attendees and our special guest speaker will be announced shortly.
Honolulu's event will be hosted at the Ocean's from 6-9 p.m. From 6-7, Ocean's will be offering specially themed drinks and New Orleans style pupus (Cajun, Creole. Dance and cruise to jazz, blues, Creole and get into the New Orleans groove. Network, have a Hurricane and enjoy the Fat City fun!
The benefit — promoted by Gulf Coast Benefit — funds Catholic Charities of New Orleans. They have created a means for you to help the children of fishing families with better education resources via the After School Assembly program. This is so they can find a new way of life if they choose to do so.
