Wear your Red, White & Blue and join the Chick-fil-A Walk, Run or Ride for Heroes in support of our hometown heroes in the police, fire, military and Emergency Medical Services.

This event takes place at Mountain Shadows Park in a community that has come together and serves as a beacon of hope for our city and state following the devastation of the 2012 Waldo Canyon Fire.

The Walk, Run and Ride for Heroes kicks off The 4th Annual Chick-fil-A Patriots' Festival presented by Colorado Technical University. It features a FREE community festival with free Kids Zone, live music, partiotic ceremony and hero demonstrations including Flight for Life Helicopter landing, K-9 Demonstration and lots of police, fire, military vehicles for kids to explore.

The Ride for Heroes sponsored by Penrose St. Fancis Health Centers features three rides:

-Heroes Challenge 28-Mile Ride takes cyclists through the scenic Garden of the Gods along Monument Valley Creek to Blodgett Peak Open Space and back up Flying W Ranch Road with more than 2,500 feet of elevation gain. SAG, Bike Racks and Rest Stop support provided by Ascent Cycling, REI and Ted's Bicycles.

- Patriots Ride 14-mile is a Family-Friendly paved trail ride along the Sinton Trail and Monument Valley Creek with on route support and rest stop provided by Criterium Bicycles.

- Free Kids Patriotic Bicycle Parade around the Park presented by Kids on Bikes with Free t-shirts provided by Simply Kids Dental to the first 100 to register. (Free but must register) A bicycle will be presented by Ascent Cycling to the child with the most patriotic hero costume and bike decoration.

The Run & Walk for Heroes features:
- The Hometown Hero 5k - is a challenging hill climb run up and back along Flying W Ranch Road with 530 feet of elevation gain. A true heroes challenge. Our hometown heroes helpd save this community... this route celebrates that we are Colrado Strong! Presented by Levens Family Dentistry. Kids 11 and under are free with a paid adult chaperone.

- The Majestic Mile - a one-mile Community Walk along Flying W Ranch Road and through the Parkside Neighborhood, the beautifully reconstructed community that was devestated by the Waldo Canyon Fire. Local dignitaries will lead the Walk presented by Saddletree Homes. Kids 11 and under are free with a paid adult chaperone.

Money raised through sponsorships and ride, run and walk registrations benefit The Home Front Cares, the National EMS Memorial Service, the Peace Officers Memorial, the Firefighters Foundation and Angels of America's Fallen.

*Wear your best patriotic dress and show your support for the local men and women who work to serve and protect our freedom and communities every day. Prizes awarded for most patriotic dressed individual & team, best team theme and largest team.
