If you haven't heard, last year's first-ever Internet Cat Video Festival, which was conceived by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, became a viral phenomenon, drawing a crowd of more than 10,000 fans to the Walker's Open Field! The event caught the attention of local, national, and international audiences and media including Animal Planet and the New York Times. For the festival's second edition (2013), the Walker Art Center created a touring program around the country to bring the cat-tastic videos to even more folks!
The tour is making a stop in Chicago! On October 19th, an estimated 3,500+ cat-lovers will be celebrating felines and exploring the art of internet cat videos together, at the Irish American Heritage Center. Event organizers, Chicago Cat Rescue & Tree House Humane Society, plan to transform the Irish American Heritage Center into a cat-lover's wonderland! In addition to the Internet Cat Video film, Chicagoan's will experience a cat-themed festival - including music, family friendly cat-ivities, cat fanatic 'must haves', refreshments, special guests and more!
Plan to make a day of it and bring the whole family! Come for 1 of 5 showings of the film and stay for the fest! Film tickets are $10.00. Best of all, proceeds from Chicago's Internet Cat Video Film Festival will benefit the animals of Chicago Cat Rescue and Tree House Humane Society!
Thank you to event sponsors: Mid North Animal Hospital and Cat Hospital of Chicago!
