Workshops are held from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Computers will not be available on-site. Attendees will need to bring their own laptops.
Day One: SmartMusic Fundamentals
This first day is specifically designed for beginning and/or middle school instrumental music teachers. No vocal content will be covered. Learn the basics of SmartMusic and leave with a full working knowledge of SmartMusic’s contents and functionality that can enhance your teaching and inspire your students. You will see how students learn more efficiently with SmartMusic and learn some rehearsal room activities for effective use during sectionals and rehearsals.
Explore the richness of the SmartMusic repertoire library especially for younger or developing instrumentalists
Experience SmartMusic’s practice features
Use SmartMusic in rehearsals, sectionals and lesson groups
Day Two: Extend Your Reach Using SmartMusic Gradebook
(Prerequisite: Attend SmartMusic Fundamentals or have a thorough knowledge of SmartMusic’s contents and practice tools.)
Open to instrumental and vocal instructors who meet the preprequisite. Learn how to guide student practice, personalize instruction and communicate easily with students and parents by using the powerful SmartMusic Online Gradebook. The SmartMusic Gradebook allows the teacher to provide individualized instruction and document student progress with student recordings and on-screen assessment. This data can help satisfy your state’s or district requirements to document student growth.
In order to use the SmartMusic Online Gradebook, you will learn how to do the following:
A Certificate of Participation given to all attendees at the completion of each day.
