PVC Roofing Materials, Performance, Construction, Functionality – One of a Kind?
1 AIA HSW Hour | AIA Course #: SDR116
AIA Provider: Carlisle Construction Material
Presenter: Wes Rhoads
PVC is one of the most diverse products in the building industry and one of the most misunderstood.
This presentation will help to better understand why PVC is one of the most versatile and modifiable thermoplastics.
With all the different formulations, types, reinforcements and construction, knowledge of this product type will assist the specifier in creating better specifications.

Updated July 2013 - Steep Sloped Premium Stone Coated Metal Roofing Systems
1 AIA HSW CE Hour | AIA Course #: IMU07E
AIA Provider: InfoSpec
Sponsor: Metals USA
Presenter: James DeVelder
This course will better inform the designer on how to properly specify stone coated metal
roofing system. Through a thorough review of installation procedures, cost breakdown and
system benefits to any project, the design professional attending this educational presentation
will be able to knowledgably specify a stone coated metal roofing system into their next project.
1. Define stone coated metal.
2. Depict how stone coated metal roofing is manufactured.
3. Explain the benefits of stone coated metal roofing.
4. Describe the installation methods for stone coated metal roofing systems.
5. Discuss how specifying stone coated metal roofing systems may contribute towards a project
earning LEED certification.
6. Describe how stone coated metal roofing systems are energy efficient & Energy Star qualified.
7. Explain the cost benefits of stone coated metal roofing systems.
10:20 - 11:20 AM
Continuous Insulation and Air Barriers for High Performance Framed Wall Assemblies
1 AIA HSW CE Hour | AIA Course #: BL0003 / 2013
Provider: Dryvit Systems, Inc.
Presenter: Bill Cohen
Recent changes to Energy Codes such as the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and
ASHRAE Standard 90.1 are substantially increasing requirements for continuous insulation (ci) and
air barrier integration into building envelope walls. Implementation of these new energy codes demand high performance framed wall assemblies demonstrating increased energy efficiency and overall reduced energy consumption for the life of the building to which they are applied. This program examines all IECC and IBC 2012 code criteria that influence the design and construction of building envelope framed walls as well as the challenges associated with the integration of continuous
insulation (ci) behind traditional veneer claddings such as increased wall thickness and support structure, their direct increase to cost of construction as well as the coordination of air barrier compatibility and overall code defined fire performance requirements. Attendees will specifically learn what these code criteria are, how they affect a traditional framed wall assembly design and detailing and how continuous insulation (ci) and air barriers can be implemented into a successful, code complaint, cost effective and high performance building envelope for new or renovation construction.
11:30 - 12:30 PM
Polyiso-The High Performance choice for Continuous Insulation in Commercial Wall Assemblies
1 AIA HSW CE Hour | AIA Course #: HP104
AIA Provider: Hunter Panels
Presenter: Grant Stahl
1. Understand the advancement of National Model Energy Codes as they relate to the energy
efficiency of the building envelop.
2. Define and understand "continuous insulation" and how its use effects energy code compliance,
current ASHRAE Standards, LEED the Energy Star program and the International Energy
3. Understand the environmental features and benefits of Polyisocyanurate insulation including
thermal performance, long service life, recycled content, negligible GWP and zero ODP.
4. Understand the NFPA 285 fire test and its role in code compliant wall assemblies.
12:30 - 1:00 PM Lunch Buffet Provided
1:00 - 2:00 PM
2012 IECC Energy Code Review & Masonry Compliance Options
1 AIA HSW Hour | AIA Course Number: EMX-1
AIA Provider: Oldcastle
Presenter: Steve Hunt
Changes in the Model Energy Codes, notably the 2012 IECC (International Energy Conservation Code), are creating challenges to masonry wall systems. The presentation reviews exterior envelope R-Value requirements and masonry wall compliance options.
1. Understand exterior wall R-value requirements.
2. Understand what Continuous Insulation (CI) is & which masonry walls offer CL.
3. Review the benefits of traditional and innovative masonry wall systems.
4. Understand design opportunities of traditional and innovative masonry wall systems
offer in terms of complying with the 2012 IECC.
2:10 - 03:10 PM
Sustainable Sites: Site Selection Criteria - Live
1 AIA HSW CE Hour | AIA Course # VGC00E
1 LEED Specific BD+C GBCI CE Hour | Course ID: 90007122
Presenter: Allen Scarborough
Emphasizing the importance of conservation, restoration and preservation of natural habitats,
this educational course explores major issues confronting design professionals when selecting
a building site. With a focus on reducing environmental impacts from building on or near
environmentally sensitive sites, such as on farmland or near wetlands, the course delves into
the requirements of Sustainable Sites.
