Join us on a tour of The Plant!
The plant is working to show what truly sustainable food production and economic development looks like by farming inside an old meatpacking facility, incubating small craft food businesses, brewing beer and kombucha, and doing it all using only renewable energy made onsite.
On our 60-minute in-depth tour, you'll learn about everything from aquaponic farming to creating renewable energy. You'll see about 3/4 of the massive 93,500 square-foot facility, including the aquaponic farms, kitchen spaces, and common spaces.
All food bloggers and guests are welcome, though we are limited to 40 people for this opportunity. If you are a Back of the Yards resident, please let us know as The Plant is proud to welcome residents free of charge, with proof of address.
The $10 ticket charge (plus Eventbrite fee) directly supports the mission of The Plant, making what they do possible.
Photographs are welcome (and this will be a great opportunity for photography), though tenants have the right to restrict photographs if they choose.
Please note, The Plant is still very much under construction. Children under 10 are not allowed (though infants that are carried can be brought in at no cost), and children 10-14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. At this stage of the building's development, it is not currently accessibly by wheelchairs or individuals with severe disabilities.
