Chicago blues not only changed the face of American pop music, but changed African-American life in the city. With the migration of southern blacks here, Chicago became the epicenter of blues recording and eventually of a sound that gave birth to various styles of rock 'n' roll.

A handful of essential surviving landmarks, including the famous Chess Records building at 2120 S. Michigan Ave., tell a fascinating tale of a culture that once ruled the city's South Side and remains one of the world's most distinct, lovable styles of music.

In addition to stops at Chess, Maxwell Street, and the famous "Blues Brothers" mural, we will conclude our tour with a stop at the home of Muddy Waters, a building that received a Chicago Tribute Marker of Distinction in 1999.

Between stops, our bus ride is enhanced by a soundtrack of classic songs that tell the musical story of Chicago blues, including Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter, Bo Diddley, and Buddy Guy.

The tour begins and ends at the Buddy Guy's Legends blues club and restaurant, where food and drinks are available and live blues is performed during lunch.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins. The bus cannot wait for late arrivals.
