No Cover | Hundreds in prizes
CharityOkie is karaoke for a cause. This year TYPros will host three CharityOkie events to raise money for the 2013 community partner, The Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa.
The first CharityOkie event absolutely rocked; great times were had by all and we raised a significant amount of cash for AHCT. Join us at the second CharityOkie of the year held at Fassler Hall downtown. Every note you sing (or scream or squawk) can win you a prize but the ultimate reward is raising money for the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa and I bet we can raise more than the first. Be sure to swing by for a song or two - it's always free to sing and we'll have hundreds in prizes!
How do we raise money at a karaoke event if it's free to sing and there's no cover? Well, let us explain: C-notes, CharityOkie money, will be available for purchase (pay with cash or credit) for a variety of entertaining reasons. You can use C-notes to "gong" someone off stage, you can use C-notes to vote for your favorite performers; check out the full list of purchase options below:
- Free to Sing
- Sing a song on the top 25 list of overplayed songs at your own risk - no gong insurance allowed
- $10 to gong someone off stage
- $10 gong insurance
- $50 "act of gong" to override the gong insurance
- Sing it now: When the wait gets long, emcee will auction off a “Sing It Now” to the highest bidder. Winner will sing immediately following, includes gong insurance and rock star additions (smoke machine and lights)
Seriously, you're going to be here anyway. Be a dear and volunteer.
In order to raise as much money as possible for AHCT we organize CharityOkie with the help of many volunteers. We need outgoing folks to help with song sign-ups, C-note sales and more; sign up for a spot by emailing subcrew leader, Stephanie Cameron, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
