Event Details

At this educational makeup seminar with celebrity makeup artist, Alicia Guevara, you can expect to sit in on TWO step by step makeup demonstrations created by Alicia.

She will be using "real women" instead of professional models to show how makeup can correct blemishes, flaws and make you look years younger! This will be an open discussion with a Q & A about technique and products.

100% OF THE PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO LLS

The minimum donation is $50 to attend. $100 donation to LLS gets you an additional bonus of Alicia's favorite "go to" beauty tool, The Beauty Blender, as well as a one on one evaluation with Alicia.

Alicia has been doing makeup for television and film for over 18 years. She is the owner of two beauty related companies, The Oxygen Room & Brow Bar and The Professionals Makeup+Hair+Image. She makes weekly appearances on FOX Daytime At Nine with her beauty segment, THE BEAUTY BUZZ. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn professional makeup tips used on Alicia's celebrity clients!

A FEW WORDS FROM DAYTIME AT NINE HOST CASSANDRA LAZENBY ON LLS:

Picture this. Your young child has just been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness – leukemia. You’ve heard of it, but what does this mean for your baby? Will your child live? Who do you turn to?

For thousands of people every year, this is their reality. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is there to answer your questions, to extend a hand when you need it most. But they need your help.

I am honored and humbled to have been nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Man & Woman of the Year campaign. I am writing today to ask for your support of my efforts.

You see, this campaign isn’t about me. It’s about the countless lives that are cut short because of ALL cancers. Even though the focus is blood cancers, the good doesn’t stop there. Through research funded by LLS, many advances have been made in finding cures for lung, breast, ovarian, and prostate cancer, too.

Meet two big reasons this campaign means so much to me…

Bella and Connor are two of my heroes that have dealt with cancer firsthand. Bella Mazuca was 1 ½ years old when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She received her first chemotherapy treatment on August 4, 2009 and was enrolled in the Children’s Clinical Trials shortly after. Bella is now 5 years old and in remission! She completed her last chemotherapy treatment on October 26, 2011.

Connor Lint was 3-years old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Connor underwent multiple brain surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy and the discovery of another tumor in his spine. Connor was battling a different form of cancer, yet welcomed with open arms by LLS. Blood cancer research is a gateway to helping many patients. As we learn more about different cancers, we are finding similarities. Many drugs developed by LLS for patients with a particular blood cancer can help more patients, including those with other cancers, solid tumors (like Connor) and serious non-malignant diseases.

The money raised by the Man & Woman of the Year candidates will benefit the LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients like Connor and Bella and their families.

Please support LLS by donating to my campaign. The campaign dates are March 7 to May 16, just ten short weeks to meet my very ambitious $110,000 goal. Every dollar raised is a vote for me and a vote to cure cancer. The candidate who gets the most votes is named San Antonio’s Man or Woman of the Year. Please be as generous as you can. Not so I will win, but so we’ll all win. We really can beat cancer!

I will keep you informed of how the campaign goes. Thank you in advance for your friendship and support!

 Love,

Cassandra
