All of us could use a few extra dollars to support our creative projects!
Regional Advisor Shannon Morgan will share information about the many grant opportunities available to SCBWI members, including application requirements, a 2013 deadline calendar, and a sample narrative and budget from her winning 2011 Work-In-Progress proposal.

Open Critique Groups
Whenever we have a free Saturday morning chapter meeting, we offer open critique groups for writers and illustrators during the second hour (11:00 am - 12:00 pm).
To participate in open critique groups, bring up to 5 pages of critique-ready work (4 copies) to share. In accordance with SCBWI critique guidelines, another critiquer will read your pages aloud, giving you the opportunity to listen to your prose or verse in action — a great test of readability. Bring fiction, nonfiction, illustration, poetry, synopses, query letters, or any other children's literature work you'd like feedback on.
