Did you know that  5,000 employment opportunities will be created in the Washington Metropolitan area ( Maryland, D.C., Virginia) in the next three years?  The nations capital is changing by bringing in more five star hotels, restaurants, casinos and eateries.

For decades, people have worked under one food handling certification and license on the premise, but today it is more beneficial if management has all staff personnel certified.  The correct term for this certification is the "Certified Professional Food Manager." 

The Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM) is a manager of food safety policies, procedures, issues and concerns.  As a student, you will learn about foodborne illness, foodborne outbreaks, bacteria, parasites, pathogens, time/temperature, delivery, cross contamination, the Center for Disease Control, the local health department, HACCP policies, Hot Holding and more...

Get in on the cutting edge of a new career path with your Certified Professional Food Manager certification.  

With the professional food manager certification, you can work as a banquet server ($18-$24 hourly), barista, cook, chef, lead cook, sous chef, server, reservation clerk, front desk clerk, concierge, bus person, host, hostess, utility worker, prep cook, housekeeping, dietician, and much more!!! 

 

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Registrants take the exam at the offices of Maryland Resource and Training Center.
Parking/entrance instructions: 
The front door of the building is locked on the weekends. So, when you get to the building, drive straight back to the back of the building, and park in the lot to your left. Come to the door with '139 Largo Park Executive Center Rear' on it and we'll let you in.  

What can/can't I bring to the event?

You may bring your study materials.

What is the refund policy?

We have a zero refund policy. If you are unable to make the exam, you may reschedule to take the exam at the next scheduled date. 

Why can't I register for the exam in November or December?

Exams are not held in November and December due to the holiday season.
