Centerplate Concessions at the University of Florida is accepting applications for three open part-time positions:

  • Event Supervisor
  • Warehouse Runner
  • Experienced Cashier 

Apply in person at the Concessions Office at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Our office is located at Gate 18 next to the South End Zone Gator Sportshop.

South End Zone of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.  Enter the stadium at Gate 18.  Facing Florida Field, make a right past the South End Zone Sportshop.  Make your next right down the hallway marked “Concessions, Licensing, and Sportshop.”  Office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

 JOB DESCRIPTIONS

The following Job Descriptions detail qualifications, responsibilities, and requirements of the three available Centerplate positions.   

WAREHOUSE RUNNER

 

 TYPICALLY REPORTS TO: General Manager/Warehouse Manager

 

STATUS: Part-Time Hourly

 

PAY RATE: $8.00 per Hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Must have valid Driver’s License for use of Cushman or Forklift

·         Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)

·         Must be able to work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Use First-In-First-Out (FIFO) product rotation procedure

·         Interact with co-workers as part of a diverse team

·         Receive and store product in proper locations

·         Ensure accurate and on-time product delivery to concession stands

·         Accurately complete delivery paperwork using basic arithmetic

·         Set up and break down portable food service equipment

·         Test food service equipment

·         General cleaning of concession stands and warehouse

 

MUST BE ABLE TO MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WITH REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION

·         While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, handle items, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell

·         Employee must have the ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders, and be able to bend or crouch

·         The employee must regularly grasp, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and carry approximately 20 feet

·         Employee must be able to perform repetitive motions

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

·         While performing duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat

·         Employee must be able to work in a cold environment – such as when working in the walk-in refrigerators

·         Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold

·         Employee must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

·         Employee must be able to operate in an environment with moderate to high noise level.

 

 

CONCESSIONS SUPERVISOR

 

TYPICALLY REPORTS TO: General Manager/Head Supervisor

 

STATUS: Part-Time Hourly

 

PAY RATE: $8.00 per Hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)

·         Must be able to work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Supervise and delegate stand crew (Non-Profit Organizations) to ensure all Centerplate procedures and food quality standards are followed

·         Communicate with General Manager and Warehouse Runners before and after event to set up and take down concession stand equipment

·         Communicate with General Manager and Warehouse Runners to ensure stand is properly stocked before and during an event

·         Keep front counter, hot dog cooker, floors, condiment tables, front stand area, soda equipment, etc. clean and in working order throughout event

·         Use basic arithmetic to complete accurate opening and closing inventories, deliveries, transfers, requisitions, and over-preps

·         Report any discrepancies in inventory immediately to the Head Supervisor

·         Responsible for all stand cash, inventories, equipment, keys, small wares, tools, and supplies

·         Review menu boards for accurate spelling and pricing

·         Train staff in customer service and stand procedures

·         Interact with co-workers as part of a diverse team

 

MUST BE ABLE TO MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WITH REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION

            ·         While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, handle items, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell

·         Employee must have the ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders, and be able to bend or crouch

·        Must have bank/large company cash room experience

·        Must be able to perform complex arithmetic calculations

·         Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

·         Must pass a background check

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Work in a secure environment under video surveillance

·         Complete event deposits accurately and on-time

·         Use arithmetic to complete accurate opening and closing cash counts

·         Use accounting knowledge to find discrepancies post-event

·        Communicate with General Manager and Head Cashier throughout event

·         Keep work-station organized throughout event

·         Report any discrepancies immediately to General Manager or Head Cashier

·         Responsible for all event cash, inventories, equipment, keys, small wares, tools, and supplies

·         Occasionally train non-profit groups in cash-handling procedures

·         Interact with co-workers as part of a diverse team

·         Communicate with Head Cashier monthly to determine schedule

 

MUST BE ABLE TO MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WITH REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION

·         While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, handle items, and reach with hands and arms

·         Employee must have the ability to reach overhead, above the shoulders, and be able to bend or crouch

·         The employee must regularly grasp, lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and carry approximately 20 feet
