A Jubilee of Mercy

In April 2015 Pope Francis wrote a letter proclaiming a Jubilee Year of Mercy, which began December 8, 2015 and runs until November 2016. It is a year for all members of the Church to grow deeper in their understanding of God’s mercy. Come learn how we, as children of God, are called to live and share the Good News of God’s mercy with others. Participants will receive a copy of the letter which will be examined this session and also reflect on ways to incorporate mercy more deeply into their own lives. (2 hours - 1 session)

Jubileo de la Misericordia

El Papa Francisco anunció en abril 2015 la celebración de un Jubileo de la Misericordia, un Año Santo extraordinario, que se inició el 8 de diciembre de 2015 y concluirá en noviembre de 2016. Este tiempo sirve para ayudar a los creyentes profundizar su experiencia y conocimiento sobre la misericordia de Dios. Los invitamos venir y aprender la manera en que nosotros, como hijos del Señor, estamos llamados a vivir y compartir el mensaje de la misericordia de Dios. Los participantes recibirán una copia de la encíclica y están invitados a reflexionar maneras de incorporar el mensaje en sus vidas. (2 horas - 1 sesión)

Blending music, scripture, and prayer, this is intended to be an experience of God’s mercy. Inspired by the Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis, we will explore the seat of God’s mercy in our own hearts; and reflect on its personal and social implications. (2 hours - 1 session)

How to Begin Evangelization in a Catholic Parish:

Preparing Teams/Committees to Share the Good News

Based on the Paulist Evangelization Ministries material, this is a series that will be facilitated to help parishes form teams and committees for reaching out as Evangelizing Catholics. Each of the sessions will spend time going through Fr. Frank DeSiano’s book The Evangelizing Catholic and viewing a short DVD in order to consider how Catholics can become activate participants in The New Evangelization. Evangelization has important goals. It involves not only the renewal of the Catholic people, but also reaching those people who are on the edges of faith, or who have no faith for all practical purposes. Participants will leave with concrete ideas for developing evangelizing programs and activities in their parishes.
