Chuck Lewis Passion Award
Chuck Lewis perceived adversity as a challenge to find solutions and always treated people and their ideas with dignity and respect. The award is bestowed in his honor to pass on his legacy.
Forward/Adelante, in partnership with the City of Charlottesville, will present the Chuck Lewis Passion Award to Melvin Walker, owner of Mel’s Cafe, in honor of his entrepreneurial accomplishments and contributions to the community.
Charlottesville City Councilor Kathy Galvin will present a keynote address on the immigrant experience, drawing from her own past as the daughter of first-generation Americans who grew up amid ethnic prejudice and anti-immigrant sentiment in Massachusetts.
Dinner Buffet – “Memories” by Chef Tony
Chef Tony Polanco will prepare a feast of Latin American dishes inspired by memories of home.
All passes must be purchased online in advance. $25 before May 31st. $30 after June 1st. Registration closes on Sunday, June 22, at 10:00 pm. Sorry, no door purchases. Space is limited!
