When & Where
Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc.
Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc. is a New York State registered not-for-profit organization whose mission is to empower children, adolescents and parents regardless of race, creed or socio-economic status in both secular and faith-based communities in the Long Island area. This empowerment is accomplished through the use of the arts, fashion and culture as mechanisms to improve interpersonal relationships and avoid pitfalls that are unique to life in the 21st Century. Your Time For Creative Empowerment, Inc. specifically identifies and effectively develops healthy problem-solving, enhances personal development and increases cultural sensitivity.
This organization is a natural progression for founder, Madona Cole-Lacy, who has for over 30 years, combined her professional skills and experiential lessons learned as a New York City Public School teacher, artist, designer of wearable art and parent, to offer social and cultural enrichment art-related programs and community service activities throughout Long Island and beyond. The Organization's program offerings include the Self-Empowering Workshop for College-Bound High School Students and Their Parents which addresses the social aspect of college life. This program, which for two years was offered by Ms. Cole-Lacy as a voluntary community service through her "My Time Has Come" for profit business, has now been incorporated into Your Time For Creative Empowerment's program offerings.
Proceeds of this gala will be used for the implementation of programs and activities which have been especially crafted to provide tools for the successful navigation of the 21st Century challenges and pitfalls through the use of the arts, fashion, and culture, alongside solid emotional and behavioral methodologies.
