At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Christ as a symbol of the Divine Christ Consciousness and return to light.  Recent events have led to a deeper understanding of who Mary Magdalene is and is not.  Mary’s identity as a prostitute stems from Homily 33 of Pope Gregory I. His sermon in 591 (Luke Ch. 7) claimed the unnamed woman at the well was Mary, thereby labeling her a prostitute. In 1969 the Catholic Church officially repealed Gregory’s labeling of Mary, thereby admitting their error.

Out of the shroud of secrets regarding Mary has come information which points to January 31 as her birthday. Regardless of whether this date is her actual birthday or not, think how fitting it is for a deeper experience of our Oneness if the Feminine Face of God's birth is celebrated in January, the beginning of the New Year, as we celebrate the Masculine birth in December, book-ending the year with celebrations of the Divine.

What we do know is she lived and her role as one of the greatest spiritual female leaders is rising to greater heights and understanding. Many scholars have known for decades that is unlikely that the actual date of Jesus' birthday is Dec. 25. Many believe that date was used because it ties into the Pagan holiday of the return of the light and this would encourage Pagans to participate in commemorating the Christ. The goddess Isis birthed her son on Dec. 25.

Due to the suppression of the Feminine Face of God as embodied in Mary of Magdala, we honor her and celebrate her birth, regardless of any possible date  inaccuracy, because it is time to honor the birth of the Divine Feminine in all of us.

The greater truth is we are one in spirit. However, because for centuries we have had a patriarchy of priest and minister, many religious factions still do not allow women to become priestesses. In this auspicious time the Feminine Face of God is rising to balance out and equal the Masculine Face of God.  We are all both male and female aspects of the Divine. A healing needs to happen to further elevate the Feminine as Divine. If you do not think so, ask your women friends how many of them struggle with limiting low self-esteem and depression.  It is time to celebrate the birth of the Feminine Face of God, so that we may all equally come into a balanced state of wholeness.

Join us in a new sacred celebration of the birth of Mary Magdalene on this new High Holy Day -- a Mary-mas celebration, if you will.

The prophecy of 2012 was not the end of the world, but according to the powerful female Guatemalan Shaman, Elizabeth Araujo (who has worked with Mayan traditional healing ceremonies), "It is the time of the rise of the Divine Feminine.” Why? She says, “Because women notoriously do not want war, nor starving children; let their voices be heard. We ask the men to support the rise of the Divine Feminine."

It is time to raise up our voices for the Divine in Women.

Come and celebrate with stories, dance, songs and poetry of the Divine Feminine in her many expressions.  From the Green Tara to Mary Magdalene we celebrate the archetype of the Divine within us all.  Men who love the Goddess are welcome.

Those who wish will have an opportunity to call forth their favorite goddess, through song, poetry, dance or storytelling (limit 3 mins.) by stepping into the community circle and sharing. Divine Feminine Leadership Collective

Our purpose is to bring forth the wisdom of Feminine leadership that has been with us from ancient times.

By invoking and calling forth within ourselves the very core of wisdom that is represented in the stories and art work, we support a cultural shift of perception about the feminine as an important leadership presence.

Filtered down through the ages, and almost snuffed out, we now understand that women who embrace their Divine sacred power led with a heart wise enough to transform and heal.

We tell the stories of the Sophia Wisdom to remember who we are.

We dance, sing and express our gifts of talent, the power our sacredness to help vibrate an awakening in us of love.

**Unless indicated as an event for women only, men are welcomed with open arms and deeply appreciated for their support, and understanding of the role that they play in joining with us in safety, protection and acknowledgement that we are both Divine.
