Downtown Columbia's Flying Saucer Draught Emporium will be hosting the 1st Annual Carolina Brew and Q festival. Beer lovers should come thirsty, the fest will feature 50 carefully chosen craft draft beers. Flying Saucer U.F.O. members will get a special treat – first dibs on sampling ten cask beers.
The festival will take place on the 1100 block of Park St in front of the Flying Saucer. Live music featuring The Black Iron Gathering followed by Josh Roberts and the Hinges (currently opening for Band of Horses) will be playing on the outdoor stage throughout the fest.
The Saucer partnered with Park Street Vista restaurants to provide a variety of Carolina-style barbecue in exchange for a cash donation to the South Carolina Chapter of The American Kidney Foundation.
General admission price is $30 for UFO members/$35 for the general public and includes a commemorative taster glass, and sampling of festival brews. Designated driver tickets include admission to the festival and complimentary soft drinks.
Other activities such as the Beer Goddess Dunk tank, ring toss booth, balloon booth and corn hole tournament will also be going on throughout the day with all proceeds raised from the games being donated to the American Kidney Foundation.
