"How To Get A Job in DC"
6:30 Networking/Resume Swap
Community Announcements include:
(Watch him on Fox Business: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HgytAIXaGI&feature=youtu.be)
AND any career news you have to share!
Please join DC Career Progress, the professional development community of Network For Progress, a social and media-savvy community for those inspired by the "Yes We Can" Movement, for a meetup and workshop with Brad Traverse, one of the foremost resources for jobs in the nation's capitol. Progressives, Democrats and other “Hope Mongers” will learn how to get a job in DC while networking for friends, careers and PROGRESS starting at 6:30.
Early Birds will enjoy free appetizers and are welcome to participate in resume and cover letter swapping for feedback from your peers....which often is very good! At the end of the program we will open it up to Community Announcements about career-related organizations, events and other resources where we will be joined by Mikey Franklin of the Fair Campaign (as seen on Fox Business) who is currently promoting the cause of getting the President and OFA to pay their interns a “minimum wage” not just permanent staff.
We will also be accepting optional contributions from registered attendees of $1 or more to support future N4P events and initiatives in 2014.
Want to be a N4P event co-host or organizers? Questions/Comments?

Please invite friends and colleagues!

*ABOUT NETWORK FOR PROGRESS
As of February 10, 2011, the fourth anniversary of the Obama For America campaign, Network For Progress will serve as an interactive and creative online/offline political, civic, professional and personally-enriching Community, Advocate & Resource for the lessons of the "Yes We Can" Movement of Hope and Change to expand on the work of Organizing For America with the Mainstream Majority of Americans (including Democrats, Progressives, Independents, Republicans and those in between comprising young people and many other under-served constituencies) that voted for President Obama in 2008.
Network For Progress will promote the use of 21st Century “bottom up” Communication, Outreach & Leadership/Development grassroots-organizing techniques for an honest dialogue to create the necessary Personal Relationships & Viral Buzz to build a Movement that is continually being revolutionized by the growth of Google, Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other networking tools but was under-utilized after Inauguration Day when the social, social media & Media vacuum of public discourse was filled by Tea Party/Fox News’ coordinated activism and only recently has been valiantly promoted by Jon Stewart’s quest for “Sanity.”
Network For Progress will provide a platform for supporters to become OUR own “Obama” who is empowered to bring PROGRESS to our professional and personal lives as well as our town, our state, our nation and our world.
“Network For Hope. Network For Change. Network For PROGRESS.”
