Cardiff students are invited to come along to a new series of online workshopping events taking place at the end of each month.
Thanks to everyone who came along to the first cafe event - see our write up of the event here.
The next Cardiff Student Social Media Cafe will be the 24 February from 12pm-2pm at Cardiff Art Institute.
Check out all the links and talks about the workshops on this wiki page.
NOTE: The venue and time have changed since the last event so please turn up to the right place!
Cardiff Student Social Media Cafe is a chance for students to discuss new media ideas and practise their skills in online publishing and reporting.
The free workshops will run monthly as informal sessions for students get creative with new online skills, pick the brains of social media experts, and brainstorm solutions to a problem posed at each event.
At the first event, held at the end of January, we looked specifically at mapping tools on the web, how to use maps to illustrate a story or blogpost, and how to find a solution to a problem using maps.
There'll be no talks and no jargon – the workshops are meant to be an accessible way to engage with new media tools while having a coffee and chatting about whatever's on your mind to do with new media and journalism.
To attend the event you need to sign up to the eventbrite page here, and if you can, bring along a laptop on the day. Make sure you use the hashtag #cssmc if you're tweeting about the event, and buy a coffee while you're there to support the lovely people hosting the event.
