Event Details

The BIG Kahuna of the CCBC event series...The 4th annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge...34 miles across Cape Cod Bay from Plymouth to Wellfleet. This is our 1st year landing in Wellfleet and it promises to be one of the biggest and best events of the season. We like to party....this years pre and post event parties will be ones to remember. It doesn't get much better than stepping ashore after 34 miles with the awesome feeling of support the CCBC family brings with it. We'll have board demos, and vendor tents, good food, music and the all important Wachusett brews to help finish a great day. All at a great family friendly spot under the big tent right across from the beach.
Raffles and auctions of all kinds of great gear, a new Naish 14' Glide (we draw the winner here), Kialoa paddles, Maui Jims, Tevas, artwork and much more. The map at the right shows the location of the landing party. The map below gives full details, including the pre-party location (that one is free, just show and carb load with the crew), places to stay, and the paddle route.

The CCBC is not a race, it is a principle fundraiser for our charity beneficiary, Christopher's Haven, and we see this as a metaphor for the kids we support, we want everyone to make it. We paddle as a group, make new friends and you step ashore as a member of the CCBC ohana. Each paddler must commit to raising a minimum of $650 for the kids.

Last year the CCBC ohana raised $80,000, enough to support 15 kids and their families while they undergo treatment for cancer at Mass General Hospital. Kids from around the country and the world come here for the specialized treatment offered at MGH. For some its their last hope. The parents of these kids are facing every parents nightmare. Finding a supportive, nurturing, and homelike place to stay that is affordable takes a small measure of the stress from the parents and means so much to the kids as they face their own much greater challenge. Here's the reason why we paddle.

If you would like to see us come ashore and attend the after party you can purchase tickets here.

Cape Cod Bay Challenge

The Cape Cod Bay Challenge (CCBC) is a recognized not-for-profit organization that hosts a series of annual SUP events. The CCBCs primary goal is to raise money for a charitable cause: Christophers Haven, a home for kids when cancer hits home. We do this by bringing together paddlers that support and challenge one another while forging new friendships and deep bonds through SUP.  Visit CCBC at www.capecodbaychallenge.org.
