Description

During spring time, the Bodrog-Tisza pastureland is inundated by the water coming from the mountains. We travel here to discover the rare ecosystem that lasts only a few weeks.

The Bodrog River joins the Tisza River in Tokaj. While rowing in the inundation area, we will be part of an event that occurs only once in a year. During spring time, the pastureland is inundated by the water coming from the mountains therefore the land becomes one big lake. At that time, the nature shows us a rare ecosystem that lasts only a few weeks, where we can see rare and protected races, a hundred bird spices like the black stork or the brown kite.

We may see higher number of white storks, herons or cranes. In the water passages surrounded by trees, we will often row between the crown of willow bushes so we can admire the wildlife and flora of the untouched nature. During the tour we can see the Tokaj Wine Region that belongs to the UNESCO world heritage.

After the 4-5-hour-long canoeing tour, we have a short walk in downtown Tokaj, where passengers may visit restaurants, pubs or wine cellars. Upon request, a wine tasting of 5 different types of wine can be organized, too.
