Park Heroes, Greenville County Recreation purchased the old Woodmont High School a few years ago and has been trying to turn the property into a park.  We need your help on Saturday, November 16 from 9am - 12pm to help with this process.  This will definitely be a park beautification project.  Register today and we will send more details closer to the date.  Of course we will have donuts and coffee waiting on you and Park Hero t-shirts while supplies last.

Q.  How do I register a group?

A.  Please have one person volunteer to be the main point of contact for your group.  Ask them to complete the online registration.  When it prompts you to enter a quantity, enter the total number of people in your group including the main contact person.

Q.  Is this a kid friendly event?

A.  Yes..... 

Q.  What are Park Heroes?

A.  A Park Hero is anyone who volunteers their time to help preserve, protect, and maintain our public parks in Greenville County.  The Park Hero effort is a project of the Greater Greenville Parks Foundation in partnership with the Greenville County Recreation.  REI Greenville awarded the Greater Greenville Parks Foundation a grant to support this project.  Thanks REI!

Q.  What if I want to be a Park Hero but I cannot make the this event?

A.  No problem, you can register as a Park Hero at and we will keep you informed as volunteer opportunities arise.

Q.  What should I wear?

A.  Always wear closed toed shoes.  Be prepared to work hard and possibly get a little dirty.  If a project requires anything specific, we will let you know.

Q.  What should I bring?

A.  Typically, we provide tools.  If we need extra we will let you know.  You should bring water, a snack, any medications you may need especially for alergic reactions to bees, ants, etc, sunscreen, and bug spray.
