Incorporating old photographs and bright, bold brushstrokes, Callahan creates evocative images symbolizing her life experiences. However, as each mind sees different shapes in the clouds, Callahan invites viewers to delve into and interpret each piece in their own way, to elicit their own story. To that end, the result has the potential to connect individual personal experiences to the experiences of the collective whole, awakening a depth of meaning that exists within each of us.
We invite you to stop by Sight+Sound Gallery on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 6:30–9:00pm for the A Sword of Moonlight and Imperishable Love opening reception. We well be serving light refreshments and offering a first hand opportunity to experience this one woman show, along with a chance to meet Callahan herself and learn details behind her individual paintings.
Then, join us for Callahan’s Artist Talk Event scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 7:00-8:30pm where she’ll offer insight into her work, answer questions, and share her creative process and inspirations behind her images.
