Presented in partnership with Re-Create, this new series assists 4th grade students with their annual report and project, coinciding with the Museum’s exhibit “California Missions: A Journey Along the El Camino Real.”
Each session includes:
- Historical presentation & guided exhibit tour
- Help researching primary sources for written report
- Assistance building a mission or creating a mission art piece from recycled materials
- Take-home folder with resources & references specific to student's mission
- Reference card specific to student's mission by Pentacle Press
- Replica historic map highlighting all 21 mission

Launching Fall of 2013, Re-Create at the Museum is a new partnership between Re-Create Eco Art Center and the Museum providing sustainable learning programs designed to educate Californians on the benefits of conserving natural resources and reducing landfill waste. Through joint programming including field trip tours, hands-on learning activities and family-friendly workshops, Re-Create at the Museum inspires visitors to harness their creativity and challenges them to rethink and reuse materials as they turn trash into treasure.
