Event Details

The Connecticut Directors Art Club is proud to present the 2013 Student Conference and Scholarship Competition for students in visual communications, graphic design, new media, illustration, and photography programs. It is a fantastic opportunity to hear real-life perspectives on creative careers from leading design professionals. The Conference is free to attend and open to all students.

Conference Schedule

9 am: Registration, portfolio submission for Scholarship Competition* and free breakfast 

9:30 am: Conference begins, CADC President’s Welcome. Deadline to submit portfolios for Scholarship Competition*

9:30 am – 12:30pm: Speaker presentations

12:30 pm: Free lunch

12:45 pm: Scholarship Competition Awards announced

1 pm: Senior portfolio reviews and meet and greet the CADC for undergraduates  

*Portfolios from accredited programs in the state of Connecticut are eligible for the Annual CADC Student Scholarship Competition. Eligible students must be in their first, second or third year of study. Fourth year or senior students are not eligible. Fourth year students have the opportunity to review their portfolio with a CADC member after lunch. Sign up is available during registration.

Description

Registration starts at 9 am and the Conference will begin promptly at 9:30 am. Breakfast and lots of freebies will be on hand for students to take. Portfolios for the Scholarship Competition must be registered by 9:30 am for consideration. 

The morning will be devoted to five 25-minute presentations from design professionals offering advice, inspiration and perspective which are important in pursuing a creative career. There will be time after each presentation for Q&A.

The Conference includes free breakfast, lunch, and lots of free books and magazines donated by Connecticut’s creative community to benefit students. Help sustain our planet by bringing a reusable mug for beverages and your own bag bag for the free materials and books!

Registration

Please register in advance. One ticket per person. Event is completely free and open to all Connecticut students and members of the CADC. Registration starts at 9 am and the Conference will begin promptly at 9:30 am.
